Erin Gray (born January 7, 1950) [2] is an American actress who began her career as a model. She has also worked as a casting agent . Her roles include Colonel Wilma Deering in the science fiction television series Buck Rogers in the 25th Century and Kate Summers-Stratton in the situation comedy Silver Spoons .
The film released to DVD on January 11, 2011, [1] and premiered at the 2012 Houston WorldFest, where it won Gold Remis for Original Drama and Original Screenplay. [2] It also showed at the 2012 Monaco Film Festival, where it won the Independent Spirit Award and Erin Gray won Best Female Actor. [3] [4]
Buck Rogers in the 25th Century is a 1979 American science fiction adventure film directed by Daniel Haller.Starring Gil Gerard in the title role and Erin Gray as Colonel Wilma Deering, it was produced by Glen A. Larson who co-wrote the screenplay with Leslie Stevens, based on the character Buck Rogers which was created by Philip Francis Nowlan in 1928.
The theatrical film also served as a pilot and two-part first episode for the series, entitled "Awakening". Several scenes were edited, some to remove the more adult dialogue in the film, including when Buck refers to Wilma as "ballsy", and later when he says "shit", and a scene in which Buck kills Ardala's henchman, Tiger Man, was edited to allow the character to return in later episodes.
Janet Maslin of The New York Times in her review, called Six Pack "good-natured but none-too-interesting" as a typical fable where "orphans find a father, a lonely man finds a good woman, an unsuccessful racer makes good on the comeback trail, and everybody lives unreasonably happily ever after."
