Vincent Joseph Scully Jr. (August 21, 1920 – November 30, 2017) [1] was an American art historian who was a Sterling Professor of the History of Art in Architecture at Yale University, and the author of several books on the subject.
After deciding to study architecture, he transferred to Yale University in 1950 and studied under Louis Kahn, graduating five years later with a Master of Architecture degree. [ 2 ] [ 3 ] He was also a Fulbright/Hayes fellow in Copenhagen , [ 2 ] and received several grants from the Graham Foundation. [ 4 ]
Berke is currently Dean and J.M. Hoppin Professor at the Yale School of Architecture, where she began teaching as an associate professor in 1987. At the time of her appointment in 2016, Berke became the first woman Dean of the school. [1] [2] In 2022, Deborah received the AIA/ACSA Topaz Medallion for Excellence in Architectural Education. [3]
