Ryan James Clark (born 9 April 1983) [1] is an Australian lifeguard and former television and film actor. He became known for his portrayal of Sam Marshall in Home and Away over the course of a decade, before becoming a Waverley Council lifeguard on Bondi Beach and featuring in Bondi Rescue.
Bondi Rescue was first broadcast in 2006. A spin-off, set in Bali, Indonesia, also screened in 2008. [3] [4] Bondi Rescue is broadcast internationally and has a substantial online presence. The show was created and produced by part-time lifeguard Ben Davies in collaboration with Producer Michael Cordell. [5] It is narrated by Osher Günsberg.
In 2006 he won the Australian Lifeguard of the year award, [4] and has recently picked up 2 Gold medals at the Australian Surf Lifesaving titles in the Double Ski and the Board Paddle. [2] As Bondi's Head Lifeguard, Hopkins had appeared in sixteen seasons of the hit television show, Bondi Rescue.
