Previously named as Cognac (Serbian: Коњак, romanized: Konjak), it was renamed when stricter laws governing what may be branded Cognac came into force. San Pedro was founded in the 1840s and had a post office from 1848 to 1857 and from 1858 to 1905. A Presbyterian Church was organized in 1889. In the 1930s the community consisted of a church, a cemetery, and several houses. By the 1990s, only the church, cemetery, and scattered houses remained. [2]
