The South African Border War, also known as the Namibian War of Independence, and sometimes denoted in South Africa as the Angolan Bush War, was a largely asymmetric conflict that occurred in Namibia (then South West Africa), Zambia, and Angola from 26 August 1966 to 21 March 1990.
The films included here are set in the time period from 1945 to 2001, or from the start of the Cold War until it came to an end in 1990s. The Cold War itself was the aftermath of World War II. At the turn of the new century the world woke up to a new reality one September morning and Cold War's aftermath period came to an end.
Set in 1961 during the onset of the Angolan War of Independence, it follows the struggles of Angolan militants involved with the Popular Movement for the Liberation of Angola (MPLA), an anti-colonial political movement.
