Floss Casasola, MBE, OD (9 August 1903 – 9 February 1991) [1] was a British Honduran teacher and music instructor who became involved in the Belizean Independence Movement. She was one of the first women to vie for public office, serving on the Belize City Council from 1952 to 1956.
Palacio was born and raised in the coastal village of Barranco. [1] He worked briefly as a high school social studies teacher before turning to music. [2] Palacio received the award for "Best New Artist" at the Caribbean Music Awards in 1991, WOMEX Award in 2007 and was posthumously awarded the BBC3 Awards for World Music award in the Americas Category, in 2008.
