Allegany Reservation (Tuscarora: Uhì·ya' [1]) is a Seneca Nation of Indians reservation in Cattaraugus County, New York, U.S.In the 2000 census, 58 percent of the population within the reservation boundaries were Native Americans.

The Seneca Nation has three reservations, two of which are occupied: Cattaraugus Reservation, Allegany Indian Reservation, and the mostly unpopulated Oil Springs Reservation. It has two alternating capitals on the two occupied reservations: Irving at Cattaraugus Reservation, and Jimerson Town near Salamanca on the Allegany Reservation. [2]
Salamanca (Seneca: Onë'dagö:h) [2] is a city in Cattaraugus County, New York, United States, inside the Allegany Indian Reservation, one of two governed by the Seneca Nation of New York. The population was 5,929 at the 2020 census. [3] It was named after José de Salamanca, a Spanish nobleman and cabinet minister of the mid-19th century.
The county is part of the Western New York region of the state. Cattaraugus County comprises the Olean, NY Micropolitan Statistical Area, which is included in the Buffalo-Cheektowaga-Olean, NY Combined Statistical Area. Within its boundaries are the Allegany Indian Reservation of the Seneca Nation of New York, and the Allegany State Park.
The new treaty reflected that the Ogden Land Company had purchased only two reservations, including the Tonawanda Reservation. The Seneca retained the Cattaraugus and Allegany reservations. [3] At this time, the Seneca of the Tonawanda Reservation protested they had not been consulted on either treaty, nor had their chiefs signed either treaty.
