The Air Max 97 was redone 20 years after the first-ever release of the Nike Air Max 97 (First released in 1997). It featured an all white colour with a remodelled tongue and Nike tag with 'AIR' in bold black writing along the midsole. It was later released in an all grey 'Menta' colour which was exclusive in women's sizes.
Released in 1990 and known as the Air Max III until 2000, when it was reissued taking its name from the year of its launch. The original colourway of white/black/cool grey with infrared was chosen to exaggerate the thickness of the sole air cushion. The upper featured Duromesh, synthetic felt and synthetic leather.

Nike Air Force 1s were ubiquitous in Harlem, New York, giving rise to the nickname "Uptowns". [6] The Air Force 1 began production in 1982 but was discontinued in 1984. [7]
