George M. Israel, III (born 1948) is the current president and CEO of the Georgia Chamber of Commerce and is a former mayor of Macon, Georgia (1979–1987), the sixth largest city in the state. He is also on the board of directors of YKK Group .

U.S. Route 80 passes through the city, leading east 26 miles (42 km) to Macon and west 69 miles (111 km) to Columbus. U.S. Route 341 crosses US 80 in the city center, leading north 27 miles (43 km) to Barnesville and southeast 27 miles (43 km) to Perry.
Bolingbroke is located in the southeastern part of Monroe County in between I-75 and I-475. Downtown Macon is 14 miles (23 km) southeast via I-75, and Atlanta is 71 miles (114 km) northwest, also via I-75.
