This relationship ended after the 2002 football season, with Holy Cross High School joining the Chicago Catholic League permanently for all sports, and Nazareth Academy joining the ESCC. [10] In 2010, St. Joseph High School withdrew from the conference. In 2022, Marian Central Catholic High School in Woodstock IL, withdrew from the conference. [11]
Nazareth Academy was established in 1928 by the Sisters of the Holy Family of Nazareth. [2] Nazareth Academy educates young women at the high school level. In August 2018, the school named its first lay principal, James Meredith.
Students at Nazareth Area High School in Nazareth, Pennsylvania in 1955. The current high school was first built in 1954 and opened to students on October 3, 1955. It was dedicated on April 8, 1956, to Frederic A. Marcks, a former teacher and the first Superintendent of the Nazareth Area School District, following the merger of the regional districts.
