Kylemore Abbey (Irish: Mainistir na Coille Móire) is a Benedictine Monastery founded in 1920 on the grounds of Kylemore Castle, in Connemara, County Galway, Ireland. The Abbey was founded for Benedictine nuns who fled Belgium in World War 1.

Kylemore Lough measures about 2 km (1.2 mi) long and 1 km (0.6 mi) wide. It is located about 20 km (12 mi) northeast of Clifden, just east of Connemara National Park. Kylemore Abbey, a major area attraction, is located on the shore of neighbouring Pollacapall Lough. [2]
