"Mambo!" is Helena Paparizou's fifth CD single and the first from her international album The Game of Love. There were two versions of the song; a Greek version and an English version. The Greek version was released in November 2005 in Greece and was a major hit going straight to number one for ten weeks including during Christmas.
"My Number One" was Paparizou's second CD single to go to number 1 on the Greek charts. At the end of 2005 Paparizou re-released the album for the third and final time in Greece and Cyprus as Protereotita: Euro-Edition + Mambo!. This edition included all of the songs from Protereotita: Euro Edition and the songs from the "Mambo!" CD single.
In November 2005, Paparizou released a new CD single "Mambo!", which peaked at number one on the Greek Singles Chart for 10 weeks and the airplay charts, and gained Platinum status. It is her most successful single to date and was the second highest-selling single of 2005, surpassing "My Number One".

In 2005, Helena win in the Greek national final with her song "My Number One", but her songs "OK" and "Let's Get Wild" took the 2nd and 3rd place, respectively. The OGAE of Greece decided the song "Let's Get Wild" to take part in "OGAE Second Chance Contest" and that song took the 4th place.
Paparizou then went on a European promotional tour visiting over twenty countries on her tour, and singing on various television shows, as well as giving many interviews. In early 2006, it was announced that "My Number One" and "Mambo!" would be remixed and released in the United States by Moda Records.
