The great feature to me is the downstairs "fun/play" area. It seemingly cuts down on the kids-running-in-the-halls-at-night issues significantly, by giving them a space. And when you travel with kids, you can send them downstairs to play pool/foosball while you sleep in.

In my mind, the pricing should be equivalent to AmericInn. I've been in several good AmericInns, and the good ones are far better than Tru. But Tru has the Hilton name and consistency (theoretically), justifying paying the same for a room which is barebones comparatively.
