The city spans the Ottawa/Allegan county line, with 9.08 sq mi (23.52 km 2) in Ottawa and the remaining 8.13 sq mi (21.06 km 2) in Allegan. As of the 2010 census, the population was 33,051, with an urbanized area population of 113,164, as of 2015. Holland is the largest city in both Ottawa and Allegan counties.
The old Holland Old City Hall and Fire Station is a two-story brick structure with a low, flat-roofed addition. The facade is topped by a gabled parapet wall. A pointed, gable roof, Dutch Revival hose drying tower is placed on a front corner. The foundation is constructed of fieldstone. Window sills of the station are defined by a stone beltcourse.
1940–1948. North Carolina Highway 49A ( NC 49A) was established as a renumbering of NC 62A. A spur route of NC 49, it went south near the Tuckertown Reservoir to New London, connecting with US 52 / NC 740 on Gold Street. In 1948, it was renumbered to NC 6; it later became part of NC 8 in 1953.
