The price of a Ruger Charger + brace is way too high. You can still get 9mm AR pistols for around $650-$700. That's with a brace. Much less expensive than a Charger. IMHO Ruger should have made both the PCC and the Charger in a non-takedown configuration. It would easily shave $100 or more off the price. Semper Fi!
I have the following, both in 9 mm: PC Carbine 19122 17rd. PC Charger 29100 17rd. I was curious when I had received these, if the barrels would be interchangeable, they detach and connect with one another flawlessly, and I even watched a great video on YouTube from TheFireArmsGuy. The TheFireArmsGuy swapped them out and fired with no issue.
It is legal to put a carbine barrel on the PC Charger and there is a video on this. There is no video of putting the 6.5" Charger barrel on the Carbine because that is illegal. BATF has said the serialized receiver is the "firearm" and not the barrel. You can buy legally, without a tax stamp, .22lr barrels for the Ruger 10/22 both the fixed ...
16″ XLW Barrel for Ruger PC Carbine | Taccom3g. We've now engineered a 22 barrel after our successful 9mm ULW barrel. This will give the competitor fast transition and reliability in 22 competition and/or steel challenge. taccom3g.com. For those of you who are wondering if this would even work, here is video of the 16" carbine barrel on the ...
The barrel is intended for competition use, to get the gun lighter. It's a 5.25 inch barrel (rifled portion) with a shroud to extend it to legal length. You might be able to pin/weld an extension to the PC Charger barrel to make it legal as a rifle and retain the takedown feature.
Here's my take (not being a lawyer): If you want to get into trouble with BATFE, put a rifle stock on your Charger with the factory 10" barrel or ..... put a barrel longer than 16 3/4" on your Charger with the factory pistol grip stock. Further, possess or worse yet ... sell a converted Charger without the parts to convert it back to a pistol.

Ruger PC Charger barrel adjustment knob stuck. I believe the adjustment knob for the barrel of the PC Charger gets jammed stuck if it’s loosened “all the way”. I can’t get it to budge at all now, the “keyed o ring” is all loose and the gun is obviously not in firing condition not being able to secure my barrel properly.

Something like a poor man's JP GMR-15. No major changes to operating system to keep the price low and production feasible. Some of the features to save weight ...
Bottom line- Don't completely loosen the adjustment ring and put the barrel onto receiver. The actual solution to resat the Keyed washer- I had to completely remove the Takedown block. (yikes) which allowed me to loosen the Barrel adjustment enough to rotate the keyed washer back into the correct tapered keyed groves.
