Pit Boss is an American television series docudrama that follows Shorty Rossi, owner of Shorty's Rescue, an organization set up for Pit Bull rescue. The series aired on Animal Planet from January 16, 2010 to March 30, 2013.
Luigi Francis "Shorty" Rossi (born February 10, 1969) is the star of the canceled Pit Boss, a reality series on Animal Planet. [1] He is also the owner and talent manager of Shortywood Productions, a company that works with little people in the entertainment industry and Shorty's Rescue, an organization set up for Pit Bull rescue (which is no longer in service).
The show's mission, stated in voiceover during the show's opening credits by founder Tia Maria Torres, is twofold: to combat misconceptions about pit bulls and other similar dogs (often referred to as "bully breeds"), and to provide employment and a stable transition for recent parolees who are trying to return to society.
