Plastisol ink needs to cure at 330deg. Normaly in a conveyer oven that desired temp will take about twenty seconds.However your curing your ink. Flash dryer/Heat Press/Heat gun/oven or heater the ink needs to cure. Be carfull not to cure the underbase when printing multiple colors on darks. That will cause the top ink to peel off of the underbase.
We print on Lycra wrestling uniforms and we add a streach ink to our Plastisol ink. It requires a higher temperture to cure and a longer time but it holds up well. works great on athletic fabric too. Question, I think I am having some trouble with dye migration. I am printing pink plastisol on 100% polyester dri fit shirts.
I understand plastisol ink is a little thicker than pigment- or dye-based inks. Would it be possible to thin the plastisol with an additive (or use a less opaque type of plastisol) and print a plastisol transfer directly from an inkjet printer?
