The WindowsFX, also called LinuxFX, strangely combines Linux and Windows. The newer version, running Ubuntu 22.04 looks and feels like Windows 11. WindowsFX has extra features that make it feel like Windows. There is a version that looks like Windows 10 as well. Let’s look into this, because this is not an Operating System for everyone.

Mar 7, 2023. #2. Hello @ownitinc, Welcome to the Linux.org forum. With that laptop you should be able to run most Linux distros. I would download and give mint a try first in live mode see how it goes. Dell normally use a broadcom wifi card for which you will have to install a driver for after installing the system.
The simpest way to try Linux, is to download and attach Linux mint 21.2 to a usb stick using Balena etcher. That will make the usb, bootable. Boot your pc to that usb stick....it will NOT affect the windows installation at all.
Start by downloading your Ubuntu ISO installation file. I used 'ubuntu-22.04-desktop-amd64.iso'. Use whatever program you prefer, such as Etcher, to place the ISO on a flash drive so you can boot from the drive to install Ubuntu. Power down the Surface Pro and insert the flash drive into the USB Port.
