The first batch consisted of 58 students with the highest students hailing from Kelantan. There are also two professor from Al-Azhar University. This college was established in 1374 AH/1955 AD and named Kolej Islam Malaya with Tuan Ismail Umar Abdul Aziz as the first headmaster. The College opened its door to female students in 1960.
