Model: Touring. ALLA lighting has been offering HID to LED modules for a while. Previously their LEDs required splicing wires, taping off and not using the HID ballasts. This now has changed with the new ones using the same plug and ballasts. The new offerings are Plug and Play replacements for $90 per pair with the usual caution on use.
I just bought a used 2005 Prius complete with the dreaded HID headlight problem. Both headlights turn on, but the right headlight intermittently turns off. The previous owner replaced the bulb and the computer ("headlight control module"), to no avail. Can someone please tell me how to fix the intermittent headlight problem?

My local store had D4R in stock with list price of $85.71, parts guy gave me $4.29 Military Discount when I showed my ID card.
Ivy, VA. Vehicle: 2007 Prius. Model: Four Touring. The connectorization is what made the HID to LED a "clean" conversion. The two connector pairs in the LED wiring are nice o-ting sealed connectors. But the 2-wire pigtail that connects to the cars wiring was just a pair of 1/4" push-on blades.

1) Go swap your bulbs. 2) If the problem persists, pull the housings and clean the contacts with some alcohol. 2b) If the problem is solved, buy 2 new genuine bulbs not from eBay or Amazon and continue enjoying your car. 3) If the problem persists, inspect as much as the wiring that is visible.

My passenger HID headlight periodically goes out so I I have ordered a replacement Philips bulb from Amazon and plan on replacing it myself.
