White Lake is located south of Holiday House and north of Woodgate in Oneida County, New York. It drains via White Lake Outlet and ultimately its waters reach the Black River via Bear Creek and Woodhull Creek. Fish species present in the lake are brook trout, rainbow trout, and yellow perch. [2] The community of White Lake surrounds the lake.
The last mile of the creek is channelized to form part of the Erie Canal, which joins the lake at Sylvan Beach. The creek drains approximately 528.9 square miles (1,370 km 2) of the Tug Hill plateau country in Central New York. [7] The largest tributary of Oneida Lake, Fish Creek contributes about 50% of the lake's total inflow. [8]
