Kuruvi (transl. Sparrow) [a] is a 2008 Indian Tamil-language superhero action comedy film written and directed by Dharani. It is produced by Udhayanidhi Stalin under Red Giant Movies . The film stars Vijay in the main lead role alongside Trisha , Suman , Vivek , Ashish Vidyarthi and Manivannan .
Vijay made his debut by singing "Bombay City Sukkha Rotti" (1994) in Rasigan. After his 25th song "Vaadi Vaadi" (2005) in Sachein, Vijay took a sabbatical from singing to concentrate on acting, [3] but made a comeback with "Google Google" in Thuppakki (2012). He won the Favorite Song of The Year at the Vijay Awards for his performance of the song.
The songs in the film are symbolic in nature and are fit into the situations. Two poems from Vairamuthu's book Peiyana Peiyum Mazhai have been re-written into song lyrics, one being "Mazhai Kuruvi". The promotional music event featured live performances of the lead singles as well as all the songs in the soundtrack album.
