Charles “Chuck” R. Kirkwood, 94, Barron, Wis., passed away Saturday, Dec. 23, right where he wanted to be, in his home. He was born Jan. 4, 1929, in Minnesota. When he was a baby, they moved to Barron, where he lived the rest of his life.
Marlene A. Clark, 84, Barron, Wis., went home to be with her Lord Jesus on Monday, Feb. 5, 2024, surrounded by her family. Marlene was born May 20, 1939, to John B. and Evelyn Miller of Arland. She married James Clark on Feb. 17, 1962, at Wesley Methodist Church.
Caroly M. Dawson, 87, Barron, Wis., was called home by Heavenly Father early Thursday morning, Feb. 1, 2024, after a lengthy battle with dementia. Caroly rejoined Dean, her husband of more than 66 years, for hand-in-hand walks they always enjoyed.
Todd Scheel, 57, Barron, Wis., passed away Feb. 20, 2023. A celebration of life will be held Saturday, April 8, from 1:00 until 4:00 p.m. at the Barron VFW. A full obituary printed in the March 1, 2023, News-Shield.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 23, from First United Methodist Church, Barron, with burial at Wayside Cemetery, Barron. Visitation was held 4-7 p.m. Tuesday and an hour prior to services, both at the church.
At age 58, we proudly celebrated her WITC college degree. For many years, she volunteered and then managed the first animal shelter in Barron County, always putting the animals' needs first, often to the detriment of inept humans who got in her way.
