The Leader of the House in Rajya Sabha (IAST: Rājya Sabhā ke Sadana Netā) is the leader and parliamentary chairperson of the majority party in the Rajya Sabha and is normally either a cabinet minister or another nominated minister. The Leader of the House is responsible for organising government meetings and business in the House.
A speaker is the presiding officer of the Lok Sabha and of the legislative assembly of each of the twenty-eight states and three union territories. Similarly a chairperson heads the Rajya Sabha and the legislative council of each of the six states, where the upper house in the state legislature exists.
