Digital Postal Index Number (DIGIPIN) is a system for a digital National Addressing Grid in India. [1] The system, developed by the postal department and IIT Hyderabad, will divide the entire country, including the Exclusive Economic Zone, into 4mX4m units, each of which will be assigned a unique 10-digit alphanumeric code, [2] derived from the latitudinal and longitudinal coordinates of the unit.
