"This Is a Call" is a song by American rock band Foo Fighters, released as the lead single from the band's 1995 self-titled debut album. Released in June 1995, it is one of many songs Dave Grohl wrote and performed on the album when Foo Fighters was a one-man band.
The guitarist Brian May added a guitar track to the Foo Fighters' second cover of Pink Floyd's "Have a Cigar", which appeared on the soundtrack to the movie Mission: Impossible 2. In 2002, May contributed guitar to "Tired of You" and the outtake "Knucklehead".

Five Songs and a Cover (A.K.A. 4 Stars) is an EP released by Foo Fighters on November 20, 2005. It was exclusively distributed to Best Buy retail stores. [1] The EP is a collection of b-sides from singles from the band's 2005 album In Your Honor. The title refers to the contents: five original songs and one cover song.
The video for this song was the first Foo Fighters music video and was directed by Jerry Casale, who was a member of and directed videos for Devo.Casale said he was chosen due to Devo's well-known surreal music videos, which would fit Grohl's request for a "non-video video", produced with a budget of just $60,000.
A version was recorded and released in 1993 by Nirvana as a B-side to the "Heart-Shaped Box" single. A live version was later featured on the Foo Fighters' release Skin and Bones in 2006, garnering "Marigold" the distinction of being the only song released by both Nirvana and Foo Fighters, Grohl's two most distinguished bands.
