Lumen Ann Pierce is a fictional character portrayed by Julia Stiles in the Showtime television series Dexter, season 5. Lumen is introduced in the third episode ("Practically Perfect") as a survivor of rapist-serial killer Boyd Fowler. She remains for the rest of the season, and leaves following the season 5 finale, "The Big One".
Outside of film, Stiles played Lumen Pierce on the fifth season of Dexter (2010), earning nominations for the Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actress and the Primetime Emmy for Outstanding Guest Actress. From 2012 to 2014 she appeared as the titular character in the web series Blue, for which she earned two IAWTV Awards for Best Actress.
It marked the conclusion of the season-long subplot pertaining to Lumen seeking revenge against Jordan Chase, and marked the last in a string of regular guest appearances by Julia Stiles and Jonny Lee Miller, who played Lumen and Chase, respectively.

Dexter and Lumen find a wounded Mendell, and Dexter notices that he is a dentist with a family. Lumen maintains he is her rapist, while Mendell proclaims he is innocent. As Dexter and Lumen argue, they find Mendell making a phone call to someone, warning that Lumen is alive. Dexter snaps his neck, and then gets Lumen to stay at Rita's house.
