Needville is located in southern Fort Bend County at (29.398232, –95.839880 Texas State Highway 36 passes through the city, leading north 11 miles (18 km) to Rosenberg and southeast 21 miles (34 km) to West Columbia.
The original Needville High School building was reported on fire at around 3:45 AM on April 24, 2007. 21 area fire departments responded but by 6:00 AM the building was still a fireball. As of 7:00 PM, the 1937 building was reduced to smoldering rubble with fire fighters and investigators still at the scene along with spectators.
Damon ISD signed a contract with Needville ISD in 1949 so Damon ISD residents could go to school at Needville High School. [3] Since 1947 students attended either Needville High or Columbia High School in West Columbia, Texas. [2] A second building and a walkway to the first building opened in 1949.

Outside buildings include a cafeteria, second gymnasium, field houses with concessions stands and a weight room. A new wing opened in the fall of 2004 and houses six classrooms and a state of-the-art dance studio. A detached cafeteria with outside seating was built and opened in 2019. [7]

The first Piccadilly Cafeteria opened in 1932 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. T.H. “Tandy” Hamilton acquired the business in 1944.
