Hi Fly Malta has no scheduled destinations. Its planes operate on a charter and ACMI basis. One of its Airbus A340-300s (registered 9H-TQM) was reconfigured for Swiss Space Systems prior to its liquidation, and retained a black livery with the Swiss Space Systems logo on the horizontal stabilizer prior to its retirement, [4] while its other airframes are unmarked except for registration.
In February 2014, Hi Fly added its first narrow-body aircraft, an A321-200 that has been leased to the Belgian Army in replacement of the former A330-300. [4] At the start of March 2013, Hi Fly Malta was created as Hi Fly's Maltese subsidiary operating a fleet of Airbus A340-600s; that division now operates a pair of A340-300s. [citation needed]

The aircraft previously referred to as its first was formerly operated by Singapore Airlines and Hi Fly. [3] When asked in July 2024 whether this would be Global's second A380 in service, Asquith said that, "Potentially. We have an agreement in place for that aircraft. I can’t say if that would be the next one or the one after." [12]
The company was founded at 15 April 2015 as Air CM Global Limited and rebranded in September 2022 as Universal Air. It operates using an air operator's certificate issued by the Maltese Civil Aviation Directorate.
