The Namibian Sports Commission (NSC) is the umbrella and regulatory organisation of all sport codes, based in Windhoek, the capital of Namibia. It is a governmental institution advising, and taking orders from, the Minister of Youth and Sport. It was established by the Government Gazette on 27 August 2003. [1]

The Namibia Central Intelligence Service (NCIS) is an agency of the Namibian government. It is responsible for all intelligence services of Namibia and was established in June 1998 through Proclamation 12/1998 which enforced the Namibia Central Intelligence Service Act 10 of 1997. [1] The NCIS is headed by a director general.
At independence of Namibia there was no dedicated ministry for the security portfolio but a Minister of State, a position occupied by Peter Tsheehama, [2] the head of the Namibia Central Intelligence Service, until 2005. In 1995 the Ministry of Prisons and Correctional Services was established. [1] Its minister was Marco Hausiku. [3]
The territory that became the independent state of Namibia on 21 March 1990 inherited the administrative division of this "province" which consisted of 26 districts. These districts remained until the First Delimitation Commission of Namibia tabled its recommendations in the National Assembly, and the latter approved and implemented them in 1992.
Development of Namibia's army was the fastest of the three arms of service. The first units of the Army were deployed as early as 1990. The Army was formed when the two former enemies South West African Territorial Force and the People's Liberation Army of Namibia were inducted after Namibia's independence into the newly created Namibian Defence Force.
