Jelutong is a federal constituency in Northeast Penang Island District, Penang, Malaysia, that has been represented in the Dewan Rakyat since 1974. The federal constituency was created in the 1974 redistribution and is mandated to return a single member to the Dewan Rakyat under the first past the post voting system.
The Lenggong Valley is one of Peninsular Malaysia's most important areas for archaeology, as excavations have revealed many traces of Malaysia's prehistory, with finds such as cave drawings, jewellery, pottery, weapons and stone tools. It is the site of one of the oldest known place of human activity in the Peninsula.
Later, the expressway was extended northwards as the Jelutong Expressway, and southwards as the Bayan Lepas Expressway. On 7 December 2010, after former second Penang chief minister Lim Chong Eu died on 24 November 2010, the Penang state government renamed the expressway Tun Dr Lim Chong Eu Expressway in his honour.
