Los 40 (stylized as LOS40, formerly Los 40 Principales, Spanish: Los Cuarenta) is a Spanish Top 40-themed music radio station that broadcasts current and recent music, primarily focusing on genres such as pop, dance, electropop, Electro Latin, and Reggaeton.
LOS40 is the most important music station in Spain, with 2,925,000 listeners in 2018, and the second-largest share of the country's radio audience just behind Cadena SER, under the PRISA group. It first began as a musical programme called Los 40 Principales in Madrid, from Cadena SER. After the program finished airing on 10 stations in the chain.
The 19th Los 40 Music Awards, also named Los 40 Music Awards Santander 2024 for sponsorship reasons, took place on 8 November 2024, at Palau Sant Jordi in Barcelona, to recognize the best in Spanish and international music of 2024. In television, Aguilar hosted the music shows Leña al mono que es de goma on Antena 3 in 1993, and Zona franca, alongside Arancha de Benito, on TVE in 1995. [6] On 40 TV, he hosted Fórmula Weekend alongside Joaquín Luqui in 1999, [7] as well as Los 40 Principales between 2000 and 2005, and the television version of the hitlist show Del 40 al 1 until the channel's closure in 2017. This was the sixth edition of Los Premios 40 Principales, created by Los 40 Principales to honor the best in Spanish and international music. It was also the last to feature the national American categories, since Los Premios 40 Principales América would be created for 2012.

The first edition of the LOS40 Music Awards were held at the Palacio de Deportes de la Comunidad de Madrid on December 16, 2006. It were hosted by Frank Blanco, Sira Fernández and Tony Aguilar and marked the 40th anniversary of the radio station. [1]
