Birstall is a large village and civil parish within the Charnwood borough of Leicestershire, England. It is three miles north of Leicester city centre and is part of the wider Leicester Urban Area. It is the largest village in Charnwood, with a population only marginally lower than the neighbouring town of Syston at the 2001 census.
The school was created on the site of the Mary Linwood Comprehensive School which closed in 1997. It opened in 2007 [1] under the co-sponsorship of the Church of England and businessman Sir David Samworth, [2] and incorporates a fully functioning church. [3] The school became part of the Tudor Grange Academies Trust in January 2016. [4]
