The tour was notable for featuring the album Moving Pictures played in its entirety for the first time live, as well as material from the band's then upcoming studio album Clockwork Angels (i.e. the songs "Caravan" and "BU2B", which had been released as a single in early June 2010).
Rush toured the album extensively in 1976 and 1977, which culminated in their debut concerts in Europe. 2112 remains the band's second-highest-selling album behind Moving Pictures with more than 3 million copies sold in the US alone.

The Moving Pictures portion of the concert was released on vinyl and digitally under the title Moving Pictures: Live 2011. In Canada in 2023 and 2024, the film was carried on Hollywood Suite under the title, Rush: Time Machine Tour. [7] The album was nominated for a Juno Award in the "Music DVD of the Year" category. [8]
