Ships of the class initially were designed with a length of 90 m (300 ft) and a beam of 13.5 m (44 ft) for the first ship, [2] and a length of 60 m (200 ft) for the second ship. [3] However, during the construction both of them were redesigned to a length of 98 m (322 ft) and a beam of 13.5 m (44 ft).
