Anthony David Smith FMedSci (born 16 September 1938) is a British biochemist and pharmacologist. Smith has spent his entire academic career in the University of Oxford. [1] [2] His research focuses on biochemical changes with disease and prevention. This includes co-founding the Oxford Project to Investigate Memory and Ageing (OPTIMA [3]).
Smith was born in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin. [1] He attended Lincoln Elementary School and Beaver Dam High School, [1] [2] before studying at the University of Minnesota, [1] [2] where he received his BA in theatre, as well as being nominated for the National Irene Ryan Acting Award at the American College Theatre Festival.
