Brandon Charter Township is a charter township of Oakland County in the U.S. state of Michigan.The population was 15,384 at the 2020 census. [3]As a northern suburb of Metro Detroit, Brandon Township is about 30 miles (48.3 km) north of the city of Detroit and about 20 miles (32.2 km) southeast of Flint.

Ortonville is a village in north Oakland County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The village is within Brandon Township, although some development near the village lies within adjacent Oakland County, Groveland township and Lapeer County, Hadley township. The population was 1,291 as of the 2021 Census estimate. [5]
From the South Dakota–Minnesota state line at Ortonville to Wayzata, US 12 is mostly a rural two-lane highway with a 60-mile-per-hour (97 km/h) speed limit, with slower speed limits through towns and a four-lane surface arterial segment through the city of Willmar. From western Wayzata to I-394 in Minnetonka, US 12 is a six-lane freeway.
