Lakeside is a private community and census-designated place in Danbury Township, Ottawa County, Ohio, United States, on the shores of Lake Erie. [2] It was formed in 1873 by members of the Methodist Church and remains a church-affiliated vacation resort and United Methodist Annual Conference site.
As of the census [13] of 2010, there were 4,460 people, 1,829 households, and 1,207 families living in the village. The population density was 948.9 inhabitants per square mile (366.4/km 2 ). There were 1,983 housing units at an average density of 421.9 per square mile (162.9/km 2 ).
Catawba Island is an unincorporated community located in the northern portion of the township and the northern portion of the Catawba Island peninsula. The Catawba Island ferry terminal is located within the unincorporated community; the Miller Boat Line runs from the terminal to the Put-in-Bay, Ohio ferry terminal and the Middle Bass, Ohio ferry terminal.
