The Madurai Metro is a planned rapid transit system serving the city of Madurai and its suburbs. Phase I of the project consisted a single corridors covering a length of 32 kilometres (20 mi). The project is planned on Tiruparankundram Road and Mattuthavani High Road in Madurai.
The Purple Line (Line 3) is one of the three proposed lines of Madurai Metro which is to be implemented at the Phase 2 of Madurai Metro. The line stretches from Manalur to Chekanurani. The line consists of 19 stations. [1] [2]
