Matthew Marsh (born 8 July 1954) is an English actor. He is the older brother of Jon Marsh of the English dance band "The Beloved".He has appeared in the films The Fourth Protocol (1987), Diamond Skulls (1989), Mountains of the Moon (1990), Alambrado (1991), Dirty Weekend (1993), Spy Game (2001), Miranda (2002), Bad Company (2002), Quicksand (2003) and An American Haunting (2005).
The drama was narrated by Simon Cadell and it stars Martin Wenner, Sharon Holm, Alison Sterling, Robert Bathurst, Tessa Peake-Jones, Matthew Marsh and Christopher Benjamin. The series begins as the story of a group of Cambridge students and their lives in the ten years following their graduation.
The series focuses on Blake, the leader of an elite murder investigation squad in London. Throughout the series, Blake has two main sidekicks. Matthew Marsh starred in the first four series as DCI Mike Hedges, and following his decision to quit the role, he was replaced by Mark Lewis Jones, who appears in the final two seasons as DCI Doug James.
