   Chevy's are crossed off my list (my family has owned 3 and been nothing but trouble) and I am also not a huge fan of Fords but might consider. My budget is 10-15k, with a little wiggle room if I can get a good deal on financing. I'm trying to stay under 60k miles, the lower the better. My major must-haves are AWD or 4WD and reliability.

   Now you got me (but you asked for it!). My personal preference is third generation, 2009-2013. I had a 2010 Forester from new, Premium trim with manual transmission. I did some light modification on it, with heavy duty King springs, a tiny lift in the rear, and a class III hitch.

   The Altima is my favorite of the bunch. It is amongst the fastest and best handling of the group, is priced well, and has all the gadgets. The 2007 model is the best looker of the bunch, IMO. My second choice is the Ford Fusion. The things I don't like about it is the lack of punch, and it is gadget-free compared to the Altima.

   Honda has produced some great cars over the past 15-20 years, but I think the Accord 2006-2007 is the best overall. By the end of this Accord model's production in 2007 Honda had perfected the car and today it is one of the most trouble free cars on the road. The car is an excelent balance of value, mechanical performance, and style.

   Lincoln Town cars also have tons of room. Ford 500s seemed roomy too. The Scion Xb is nice and tall but lacks a telescoping wheel. It is priced very well and seems like a heck of a deal. I am considering one as a family vehicle but I do not think it would be a good travel car and I worry a bit about safety.
