    Some larger fish are present but they are Wisconsin strain fish and most likely naturally occuring or remnants from stocking many many years ago. Back in the 50's a 50#+ musky was caught on Winnebago, it's in the books. Winnebago could very well be the next Mille Lacs, but it will need a huge quantity of stocking.

    We were 50 minutes south of Kenora (by boat) on LOTW 9/14-9/21. 7 guys, 3 boats, put 6 musky in the boat - 50.75, 49, 46, 44.5, 44.5, 36. Everything was caught in 3FOW or less, focused mainly on sand/reed shorelines. Everything caught on bucktails.

    A release gaff actually controls the fish far better and does less damage to the fish. The Rapala seems to do more jaw damage than the Boga, and is tougher to release. The bad thing about the Boga is the scale. Give an angler toy, and some have to use it.

    For the most part, fish where you would have before using the same baits. Fish might move shallower, or maybe not. If the shallow water is still really warm they might not move that shallow. Those rainy days can be especially awesome on flowage type lakes where the fish are shallow.
