    HAMB Merc Club. Brought this 1971 Honda Mini Trail home two days ago, it's a true barn find. The farmer said it was used by his grandfather until 1975 then the children who lived on the farm used it to drive around on the fields. I guess that's why many of the parts on the bike are either bent or broken.

    Here is a picture of me standing next to a home built mini-bike I built in 1963. 3 1/2hp Clinton engine with brushed chrome parts;scrub brake;frame of 3/4" EMT.Pic was taken when I returned from boot camp in August of 1964. I gave it to a friend of mine for his son who was just learning to ride at 6 years old.

    The original true Hodaka's came out in late 1964 as the ACE 90 model. This was the only Hodaka until 1968 when market pressure forced them to bring out the ACE 100. this is when Hodaka also started to sell their motors to frame builders like Rickman and Steens to build their own bikes.

Powered by a 3.5 hp Subaru chainsaw engine it managed to propel my 260 lb. ass to a measured speed of 37 mph at a motorcycle show in Ohio.

    from Montana. On eBay they sell a coil spring lift kit. There are a couple of sizes up to about an inch thick. They set under the coil spring and can give you up to 3-4 inches of lift. That, in combination with the ball joint spacers and your original springs will give you the lift and travel you want.
