Pretty Polly (George Paice, 1906)Pretty Polly (March 1901 – 17 August 1931) was an Irish-bred, British-trained Thoroughbred racehorse and broodmare. One of the greatest fillies ever to race in Britain, she won fifteen consecutive races and was only the fifth horse to win the British Fillies Triple Crown since its inception in 1814.
The event is named after Pretty Polly, the winner of the fillies' Triple Crown in 1904. It was established in 1962, and was originally staged at Newmarket's mid-May fixture. [1] It was moved to early May in 1973. [2] The Pretty Polly Stakes sometimes serves as a trial for the Epsom Oaks. The last horse to win both races was Taghrooda in 2014.

The Pretty Polly Stakes is a Group 1 flat horse race in Ireland open to thoroughbred fillies and mares aged three years or older. It is run at the Curragh over a distance of 1 mile and 2 furlongs (2,012 metres), and it is scheduled to take place each year in late June or early July.
On her racecourse debut Pretty Pollyanna started a 14/1 outsider in an eight-runner maiden race over six furlongs at Yarmouth Racecourse on 15 June. Ridden by Hayley Turner she tracked the front-running favourite Assembly of Truth before taking the lead in the last quarter mile and despite veering left in the final furlong she won by half a length from Kareena Kapoor.
