Christ the King Catholic High School and 6th Form College, is a large Roman Catholic secondary school located in Birkdale, Southport. The school was originally built to be temporary, however it is still standing after over fifty years and has approximately 1200 pupils ranging from 11 to 18 years old.
The school became a designated specialist Sports College in 2003, but in 2012 was renamed Stanley High School to celebrate the school's 60th anniversary. [citation needed] In 2016 the school was judged Inadequate by Ofsted and therefore became an academy in 2017. [4] [5] The school's academy sponsor is Southport Learning Trust. [6]
