Botanical illustrators paint or draw plants and sometimes their natural environment as well, forming a lineage where art and science meet. Some prefer to paint isolated specimen flowers while others prefer arrangements. Many botanical artists through the centuries have been active in collecting and cataloguing new species and/or in breeding plants.
Stones worked as principal contributing artist to Curtis's Botanical Magazine from 1950 to 1981. [2] Between 1958 and 1983 she produced more than 400 watercolour drawings for the magazine. [3] In 1957 she was commissioned to prepare a set of floral designs for Australian postage stamps. [3]

Margaret Lilian Flockton (29 September 1861 Sussex – 12 August 1953 Sydney), is most commonly recognized as a botanical artist famous for her botanical illustrations of "The Forest Flora of New South Wales" (some 300 plates), "A Critical Revision of the Genus Eucalyptus", and the genus Opuntia, all by the botanist and forester, Joseph Henry Maiden.
Michael Edwards (2 November 1930 – 13 March 2010) was a painter, pioneer art therapist, analytical psychologist and curator of the picture archive of the artwork of patients of C. G. Jung. [1] He was also the first Emeritus Professor of Art Therapy at Concordia University in Montreal, Canada.
