Exploding head syndrome (EHS) is an abnormal sensory perception during sleep in which a person experiences auditory hallucinations that are loud and of short duration when falling asleep or waking up. [2] [4] The noise may be frightening, typically occurs only occasionally, and is not a serious health concern. [2]
In August 1995, HP released the first computer in the Pavilion line known as the HP Pavilion 5030, an IBM PC–compatible desktop computer designed for multimedia use. While it was not the first multimedia PC the company made, it was the first computer made by HP that was designed specifically for the home market.
Loud snoring. Excessive daytime sleepiness. Morning dry mouth. Irritability. Headache. There are two main types of sleep apnea: Obstructive sleep apnea (OSA). This is the most common type of sleep ...
Hypnagogic hallucinations are often auditory or have an auditory component. Like the visuals, hypnagogic sounds vary in intensity from faint impressions to loud noises, like knocking and crashes and bangs (exploding head syndrome). People may imagine their own name called, crumpling bags, white noise, or a doorbell ringing.
Traumatic noise exposure can happen at work (e.g., loud machinery), at play (e.g., loud sporting events, concerts, recreational activities), and/or by accident (e.g., a backfiring engine.) Noise induced hearing loss is sometimes unilateral and typically causes patients to lose hearing around the frequency of the triggering sound trauma. [17]
The term loudspeaker may refer to individual transducers (also known as drivers) or to complete speaker systems consisting of an enclosure and one or more drivers.. To adequately and accurately reproduce a wide range of frequencies with even coverage, most loudspeaker systems employ more than one driver, particularly for higher sound pressure level (SPL) or maximum accuracy.
For a multiple sound source speaker system, the measurement should be carried out for all sound sources (woofer, bass-reflex vent, midrange speaker, tweeter...). These measurements are easy to carry out, can be done at almost any room, more punctual than in-box measurements, and predicts half-space measurements, but without directivity information.
Sleep-talking can be monitored by a partner or by using an audio recording device; devices which remain idle until detecting a sound are ideal for this purpose. Polysomnography (sleep recording) shows that episodes of sleep talking can occur in any stage of sleep. [1] Stress can also cause sleep talking. [3]
