A long condor consists of four options of the same type (all calls or all puts). [1] The options at the outer strikes are bought and the inner strikes are sold (and the reverse is done for a short condor). [1] The difference between the two lowest strikes must be the same as the difference between the two highest strikes. [1]

Thus, for the first example above, the corresponding short call ladder would involve selling a 90 call, buying a 95 call, and buying a 105 call. A long iron butterfly will attain maximum losses when the stock price falls at or below the lower strike price of the put or rises above or equal to the higher strike of the call purchased.
