    forum.audiogon.com/discussions/how-much-discount-typically-for-a-new-mc275-to...

08-30-2019 at 01:57pm. McIntosh offers a 3 yr warranty for new equipment. I am sure you can find a used but mint amplifier that is less than 3yrs old- and probably less than a 1 yr old- for 25% less than msrp. Buy used, still have a warranty. Best of both worlds. Most problems manifest in the first few months of use.

I just invested in a new McIntosh 8900 integrated and B&W 804 D3s as part of a wholesale system upgrade. I did receive a fair discount on both the Mac and the B&Ws. I am in the U.S. As as far as pairing goes, imho, I think these two product lines do it better than most, especially in their price ranges. My system was just installed this week.

McIntosh publishes a monthly inventory update that is delivered to dealers. It’s short on specific production dates but does give some projected timelines on backordered items...so they are at least trying to give customers, via their dealers, realistic expectations. Their mantra is: It’s worth the wait.

  5. McIntosh dealer discount - Audiogon Discussion Forum

    forum.audiogon.com/discussions/mcintosh-dealer-discount

When I was shopping for an integrated 2 years ago (I decided to go with Luxman), three different McIntosh dealers within driving distance (80 miles or so) offered approx 15% if I ordered thru them. One had a demo unit of the prior model and offered 20% or so. You need to contact by phone and make sure you let them know if you are out of town.

McIntosh Dealers will never discount. If the McIntosh Company finds a dealer that discounts, they will stop being a McIntosh dealer. If you want a discount, buy used. sorry.....

Dan has as extensive collection of used McIntosh equipment mostly from retiring dealers. He is an authorized McIntosh dealer for new equipment also. All my dealings with him were excellent. He went so far as to delivery demo equipment to my house, set it up, and allow us to use it for several days. Definitely deals in the high end market.

I was just on the phone with my local Mc dealer. He offered me a nice price on the C2700. Nevertheless, it is true that McIntosh generally doesn’t discount. Whatever deal you get is coming out of the dealer’s pocket, so to speak. McIntosh is such a strong brand that they don’t even discount demo units to dealers.

In this Part 3 video, we interview Tony Ng of Ong Radio, one of Asia’s largest McIntosh dealers. In the video, Ng takes us through the McIntosh gear that that was used in Ong’s room at the show.

Then McIntosh tried to market its own brand of speakers. This happened about the same time that Marantz, and other competition began to reduce the market share of McIntosh. Dealers blamed McIntosh speakers for reducing their profits at this critical time, and the speakers were discontinued after disappointing sales.
