CME hack: buy one month of UpToDate for roughly $57. Every search is 0.5 CME so search 200 things in the month (very doable) and claim it all as category 1. Done for two more yeaes. If you use UpToDate it actually tallies the hours for you and then you can print that for the record.

Yes, it is considered Category 1 and can be used to fulfill the 100 required hours. Just keep certificates in case you get audited. Log it under American Medical Association as sponser and "Up To Date Inc" as the provider in NCCPA.

CME + recert fee for cycle 1-4 (that’s 8 years). Then CME + recert fee + PANRE in cycle 5. PANRE can be attempted in year 9 but must be passed by year 10. I believe you get 3 tries max. Letting your NCCPA cert expire is a huge hassle to remedy (both money & effort).

Here's a quick timeline: 2014: I register for and pass the PANCE. 2016: certification maintenance fee. 2018: certification maintenance fee. 2020: certification maintenance fee. 2022: certification maintenance fee, register and pay for the PANRE-LA.
